This was my no chemo week. Yay! I was extra wiped out from having a stomach bug go through our family this weekend so I am glad for a little breather to regroup my energy.
Actually, this week I've been more focused on my back pain than on my cancer. I've had back pain for the past year and a half. I first attributed it to normal post-baby recovery. Then I attributed it to this darn cancer. But the MRI last week showed two bulging disks in my back that are not located at the cancer sites, but one of which is located at the spot of most of my pain. So now I'm on a mission to learn how to care for bulging disks. Anyone out there dealt with bulging disks? What remedies have or have not worked for you?
Dang it, Heidi. I just love your posts and I read them all. My problem is that I have a hard time expressing my heart in writing. But I want to comment, because I'm here, and I love you! You amaze me...just amaze me. I love you!

Hey Heidi! I have not had bulging discs but I have had to deal with chronic back pain. If you need to find a good back doctor I would highly recommend the one I go to in Orem. I'm so sorry...back pain can be so hard to deal with, especially with everything else you have going on. The thing that has worked best for me is regular back exercises and stretching and just trying to strengthen that area in general.
ReplyDeleteThayne has disk problems in his neck. I imagine there is a certain amount of crossover and he could at least get you started.
ReplyDeleteHi Heidi! I am A.J. Bobo's wife. I have bulging and herniated discs in my back and neck. I have struggled with it for a really long time. Physical therapy has been the most beneficial thing for me. The exercises, e-stim, and traction has helped me the most in the long term. Ice seems to help me more than heat but everyone is different and they tried both st PT before they found what worked for me but that is something you could try at home. I don't know how realistic PT is for you time wise right now but even a few sessions to learn som exercises you could do at home and do some traction would likely be beneficial. I go to UVRMC and they have really flexible early morning and late afternoon hours and they are really good but I bet you could find someone closer to you. I hope you are able to find something that helps. Please let me and A.J. know if there is anything we can do to help with anything!
